Repositioning Agriculture for Job Creation & Economic Growth

Nigeria’s agriculture sector is inefficient and characterized by poor yields, by far below international standards. Moreover, because of the rudimentary status of its agricultural sector and the limited development of the agro-processing business, Nigeria is today unable to capture the full potential of its agricultural assets. As a direct consequence, Nigeria is obliged to rely extensively on food import, which negatively impacts the Nigerian commercial balance and continues to weaken the agriculture sector.
